THE STAYCATIONERS: THE MARITIME HOTEL
Welcome aboard SS THE STAYCATIONERS. We’ll be raising anchor in just a moment, so get ready for the seafaring staycation of a lifetime operated by Chelsea’s one and only nautical-chic Maritime Hotel. Feel free to wander the teak-lined corridors or retire to your cabin to settle in — your steward will deposit your belongings at your doorstep. Anchors aweigh!

THE SPOT: Maritime Hotel | 363 West 16th Street at Ninth Avenue
THE STATS: 126 rooms, buzzing location, sprawling marble bathrooms, and a killer coastal Italian restaurant fit for mermaid royalty.
PERFECT FOR: a nautical-inspired city getaway for the salty dog in all of us.

Ah, Maritime. The views from your porthole windows alone are enough to make any deckhand drop anchor for an extended stay. But first things first — just down the street, THE STAYCATIONERS channeled their inner sea salt goddesses thanks to Bumble and Bumble’s Surf line for that wave-kissed look that screams, “I’d better not go overboard now.” Hot tip: mention “THE STAYCATIONERS” at booking and get yourself a complimentary Surf Foam Spray Blow Dry to achieve the look… you can thank us later.
Decked out in VINCE and fresh blowouts, the gang headed over to the hotel and took to their stateroom with special guest Kylee Campbell in tow, popping back out again only to commandeer the elevator toward Italian cocktail paradise. To the galley we go.

When Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich get together to open a new NYC restaurant for the first time in nearly a decade, magic is bound to happen. Maybe it’s the natural light pouring into each dining room, or perhaps it’s the beautifully bright bevy of dishes rivaled only by their potable counterparts, but either way it’s safe to say that this place is our new obsession. And behind the dynamic duo, a fleet of culinary captains steers the ship, most notably Josh Laurano as Executive Chef and Michael Laiskonis and Thea Habjanic on pastry duty. Dessert first is not a crime, people.

Whether soaking up the sun on the expansive patio or hosting a private party in the newly renovated cabana (we highly recommend the latter), La Sirena is undoubtedly the destination of the season and beyond, staycationing or not. Tell ‘em we sent you.

They say a true sailor can hold his (or her) liquor, so without intentionally putting this to the test, THE STAYCATIONERS made their way back to their quarters for a happy hour of their own. Cue the copper hardware.

Sure, you’ll need an extra suitcase for this Elyx flamingo punch bowl, but nobody ever said THE STAYCATIONERS travel lightly. For this summer staycay punch, you’ll need:
10 parts Absolut Elyx
5 parts Lillet Blanc
5 mugs chilled Jasmine tea
1/2 mug orange blossom honey
10 lemons

Squeeze juice of eight lemons into punch bowl; add Elyx, Lillet Blanc, jasmine tea, and honey. Stir well. Slice remaining two lemons into wheels and throw in for decorative purposes along with a handful of edible flowers. Serve over ice in copper Elyx pineapples with a copper ladle (you’re fancy, remember?) and top with an additional sprinkle of flowers. Toast your fellow staycationers and proceed to take quality Instagram photos against royal blue velvet curtains. After all, that’s what being a staycationer’s all about.

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s been a pleasure serving as your captain. Once again, we thank you for choosing SS THE STAYCATIONERS. Please mind the gangway as you disembark.
Keep up with THE STAYCATIONERS as they take over a new hotel each month. This round made possible by Absolut Elyx, Bumble and bumble, VINCE, Monica Sordo, Anndra Neen, La Sirena, and of course, The Maritime Hotel. Special thanks to our guest staycationer, Kylee Campbell.
