THE STAYCATIONERS: Park South Hotel

Calling all foodies: THE STAYCATIONERS have found the perfect oasis tucked on a side street jutting from the Park Avenue South suit-clad frenzy. It’s everything a true New Yorker (read: staycationer) could ask for: a respite rife with dining and drinking options aplenty sandwiched on either side of a quiet slice of hospitable heaven, otherwise known as the designated post-workday happy hour spot doubling as a go-to weekend getaway our inner culinary connoisseurs crave. Let’s dive in, shall we?

THE SPOT: Park South Hotel | 124 East 28th Street, New York NY 10016

THE STATS: Prime location, one rooftop bar/hangout outfitted with fireplaces, lobby bar, café, two restaurants, 131 guest rooms, historic building

PERFECT FOR: A foodie escape for the gourmand in all of us.

Nothing sets the scene for a proper staycay quite like a solid prep sesh…with an ice-cold post-contour highball. Method: add two ounces Suntory Toki or Japanese whisky of choice to a highball glass; drop ice in glass and top with soda. Garnish with lemon zest, sip heartily, and throw some beauty products in the air like you just don’t care.

As you might’ve gathered from literally any other installment in STAYCATIONERS history, every hotel room becomes a full-on styling suite by default. Here at Park South, THE STAYCATIONERS channel low-key vintage rockstar vibes thanks to the boys of Barking Irons and Palmiers du Mal, accessorized by dreamy bags courtesy of BLACKSEA.

Before they could say “acid wash denim,” it was time for an apéritif a few flights up at Roof at Park South. THE STAYCATIONERS spared no expense.

o ya, Park South’s crown omakase jewel, calls…and THE STAYCATIONERS answer. Luckily, they’ve saved enough room for the dozen courses that beckon.

Even after the most copious meal, there’s always a reserve for a good nightcap…cue Covina, the hotel’s all-encompassing restaurant, bar, and brunch destination. And what better place to enjoy a stiff digestif than the quiet library hidden behind it all? We have a feeling THE STAYCATIONERS would be stationed here all night were it not for the bed upstairs awaiting their return. Until next time, faithful foodie.

Keep up with THE STAYCATIONERS as they take over new hotels in new cities each month. This round made possible by Park South Hotel, BLACKSEA, Barking Irons, and Winky Lux.
