THE STAYCATIONERS: PARAMOUNT HOTEL
THE STAYCATIONERS are back on a royal agenda, taking over the Paramount Hotel in a midwinter night’s dream.
VOLUME III | THE PARAMOUNT HOTEL
THE SPOT: Paramount Hotel | 235 West 46th Street
THE STATS: 597 rooms, one restaurant, one café, and 6,000 square feet of old-world subterranean opulence
PERFECT FOR: A one-night reign for the regal at heart
The Paramount Hotel is a massively majestic property in the heart of Times Square, dating back to the 1920s and replete with the dramatic history of the city’s most theatrical district. Rich wood, leather, and velvet accents exude modern elegance throughout the lobby, permeated by the property’s own bespoke (and rather intoxicating) scent. To the elevator – going up.
There’s nothing like a room with a view. Paramount’s upper level floors boast breathtaking panoramas of the sprawling scene below, the perfect punctuation mark on the historic hotel’s Theater District locale. Choose from Broadway Petite or Classic, Superior Queen, Two Double, Deluxe King, or One Bedroom, Entertainment, or Couture Suite, all impeccably decorated with a juxtaposition of contemporary elements against the old-school city backdrop. Also, pillow-top beds.

No staycation is complete without a bit of drama. GlamSquad to the rescue with hair and makeup, giving our STAYCATIONERS the royal treatment in preparation for an evening of folly at the Diamond Horseshoe’s Queen of the Night. In-room hair and makeup is the jam – use code TTSGLAM for a blowout on us.

A fantastical labyrinthine ballroom nestled beneath the hotel is home to Queen of the Night, an avant-garde theatre experience of epic proportions. The Diamond Horseshoe, a previously abandoned grand ballroom revived after a 60-year hiatus, underwent a serious renovation in late 2013 and returned to the scene with QOTN as its inaugural, one-of-a-kind production gracing the stage. Join the Queen’s court for an evening of decadence and curious pleasures – trust us, it’ll blow your mind.
Disclaimer: patrons may experience sexual encounters, minor electrocution, and general pleasure. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

On top of being a dangerously divine immersive theatre experience, Queen of the Night is also a ridiculous dinner party. The Queen’s culotte-clad subjects ceremoniously present each table amidst the reverie with various delicacies and delights, from cages of lobster to roasted suckling pigs and short ribs with marrow bones, encouraging showgoers to load up plates and barter with surrounding tables. You’ll imbibe. You’ll be visually and gustatorily thrilled. You’ll be spanked and spoon-fed chocolate cake (simultaneously). We call this a successful night.
