THE STAYCATIONERS MIAMI: MIAMI BEACH EDITION
In a world where muted tones and palm leaves serve as the backdrop for every Instagram, swimsuits replace any and all underthings, and the intoxicating smell of Le Labo enrobes a staycation in its entirety, there is bliss and quietude amidst the buzz and vibrance that is Miami. Collins Avenue’s tall, white beacon beckons guests from both across the globe and its own backyard, and beyond its doors, it’s a vacation either way. Enter THE STAYCATIONERS’ monochromatic dream sequence.

THE SPOT: Miami Beach EDITION | 2901 Collins Avenue, Miami
THE STATS: 294 rooms, two secluded pools, private beach, spa, multiple dining/drinking destinations (hi, Jean-Georges), subterranean nightlife scene, prime location
PERFECT FOR: Literally any staycation variety, from celebratory birthday or bridal party overnight gatherings to casual, low-key luxury solo/staycay-en-couple romping.
One boardwalk bike ride and a few close calls later, THE STAYCATIONERS posted up at Sugar Factory for a boozy brunch in candyland, complete with smoking cocktails, burgers, towering milkshakes, and of course, some candy for the road. Gotta keep those bikini bodies looking right.
Miami bloggeuse Jana Carrero of OJ and Cigs joined the party along with her partner in crime Yesi Flores behind the camera, and as the sugar high waned, the crew got down to business. Armed with Perrier-Jouët and views that’d surely make Champagne Papi proud, THE STAYCATIONERS kicked back with the girls from 1821 Salon for some serious Bumble and bumble beach wave treatment (Surf Infusion and Surf Spray, holla) overlooking the boardwalk and its neighboring crashing waves. To the pool we go.
THE STAYCATIONERS elected a choice cabana as HQ for the day, donning Cosabella getups beneath the canopy of palm trees, venturing out only for a poolside selfie or two. Is that a hidden adult sandbox? Don’t mind if we do.

If you know food, you know Jean-Georges Vongerichten. If you don’t know food, you should know that anything JG touches turns to gold, and the EDITION’s Market and Matador Bar/Room are no exception. THE STAYCATIONERS got their market-to-table on atop the light-filled menagerie’s marble floors as the sun set, taking a trip through the menu’s bright, beautiful dishes and drinks before the evening’s next stop.

With a figurative wave of the red cape, THE STAYCATIONERS cozied up to a corner banquette at Matador Bar for another round of drinks and bites. Anywhere with our favorite copper pineapple setup is golden in our books, but the Matador crew takes things to the next level with what’s inside. The bar room, a prelude to the grand dining room, pays tribute to cocktailing of a bygone era with a grand walnut bar as its centerpiece, the walls peppered with shots from Lucien Clergue’s Matador series and the pool glittering in the distance. After a serious second dinner, THE STAYCATIONERS headed down a floor to get their bowl on.
A kaleidoscope of neon lights welcomed THE STAYCATIONERS to their final stop for the evening, where the crew traded heels for bowling shoes and bowling shoes for skates. Staycay veteran and New York homegirl Alexandra Machover of Spur of the Moments crashed the party and the activities (read: debauchery) commenced. We’ll leave the rest to your imagination. And no, we didn’t forget about the candy.
Keep up with THE STAYCATIONERS as they take over new hotels in new cities each month. This round made possible by Bumble and bumble, Perrier-Jouët, 1821 Salon, ASOS, Cosabella, Sugar Factory, Market at EDITION, Matador Bar, Basement Miami, Style Mafia, IORANE, N-DUO, and Mint & Rose.
