THE STAYCATIONERS FL: The Diplomat

The term “diplomat” carries plenty of meaning: important international affairs, super short airport customs lines, and being generally skilled at carrying oneself in everyday situations. While Hollywood’s new crown jewel requires neither lengthy political conversation nor passport control, its moniker is apropos given its stately status and air of refinement. After all, we’d expect nothing less from a cool $100M renovation. Without further ado, THE STAYCATIONERS present a candy and cabana-filled staycation in true luxury beachfront resort fashion. Enter The Diplomat.

THE SPOT: The Diplomat Beach Resort | 3555 S Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL

THE STATS: 1000 rooms (96 suites, 515 king rooms, 484 doubles), 10 vastly different food and drink experiences from grab-and-go to elevated coastal fare by Geoffrey Zakarian

PERFECT FOR: A home (not so far) away from home complete with all the bells and whistles of an island beach resort vacay.

We’ll spare you the puns, but this staycay started off pretty damn sweet. Enough said.

The Diplomat’s Trina Turk cabins are irresistible, to say the least. THE STAYCATIONERS hung around until all their candy melted (at which time they transitioned to tacos, as any normal person would).

As if they hadn’t eaten enough already, it was time for THE STAYCATIONERS to get their crustacean on at Geoffrey Zakarian’s Point Royal, where the raw bar is endless and the wine is ever-flowing. Pair, don’t share. We just made that up.

Any staycationer knows that balconies are a must…even better when sky-high and significantly bigger than your Manhattan apartment. We’re not salty. After an obligatory “pile all the staycationers in one bed” shoot, the crew gathered al fresco for a quick toast before yet another meal.

Oh look, time for more food! That’s what happens when you staycation in a literal dining dream. Off to a mini-marathon across the street featuring outdoor apéritifs at Portico (cool cars included) and the ultimate Americana situation courtesy of Bristol’s Burgers. Milkshakes and arcade games, anyone? That’s what we thought.

Keep up with THE STAYCATIONERS as they take over new hotels in new cities each month. This round made possible by The Diplomat Beach Resort.

Special thanks to our guest staycationers Jana Rose Carrero and Yelany de Varona
