Conscious is the name of the game at SoHo’s latest (and perhaps greatest) boutique hotel, alongside moody minimalism and all that comes with the product of a real estate magnate launching his first solo hotel venture. Allow us to set the scene: Howard and Lafayette. Sky-high ceilings opposite concrete floors. Color stories worthy of any contemporary design-driven Pinterest board. PERFECT FOR: The environmentally sound set. 11 Howard’s core value (“Conscious Hospitality”) transcends that of all others in the eco-friendly hotel game, bringing modernity and purpose together in every detail.

All roads lead to Rome, and all 11 Howard staycations begin and end at the lobby’s glorious gunmetal focal point (literally). Nothing like a functional centerpiece. THE STAYCATIONERS settled into their Howard King with Bumble and bumble on hair duty and afternoon cocktails by Absolut Elyx, played dress-up in Baja East and Houghton, threw on some moody eyeshadow, and headed for Le Coucou by way of spiral staircase.

When the wallpaper game’s as strong as the cocktail menu, you know apéritif is off to a good start. Le CouCou came through for THE STAYCATIONERS with glistening glassware and the uncanny ability to whet a palate in the most charming of ways. Dinner is served.

A good meal is always sandwiched between cocktails, n’est ce pas? THE STAYCATIONERS headed up a flight for a nightcap at The Blond, where photos are verboten, so naturally the crew made up for lost shots by downing dessert in bed — but not before an outfit change for hallway Elyx-ing.
